In Russia, in the Saratov region, an environmental project has been launched: schoolchildren and preschoolers collect plastic bottle caps in their free time, exchange them at recycling centers for money, and buy fish fry. The purpose of the campaign turned out to be more than just that: children not only help clean the streets of plastic caps, but also save the fauna of the Volga River. The price of one fry is four rubles or one hundred caps, and already a thousand fry have been released into the Volga. The plastic caps are sent to a factory, where they are shredded and melted. Granules are produced from them, which are then used to make stationery, furniture, and even clothing. Over two years, tons of plastic have been recycled, and more than 80,000 fish have been released into the river.
