Discussion on Ways to Improve the Temperament and Taste of Glass Bottle Packaging

For a long time, glass has been widely used in high-end cosmetic glass packaging. Beauty products packaged in glass reflect the quality of the product, and the heavier the glass material, the more luxurious the product feels-perhaps this is the perception of consumers, but it is not wrong. According to the Washington Glass Packaging Association (GPI), many companies that use organic or fine ingredients in their products are packaging their products with glass. According to GPI, because glass is inert and not easily permeable, these packaged formulas ensure that the ingredients can remain the same and maintain the integrity of the product. The relevant person in charge of the Washington Glass Products Packaging Institute (GPI) explained that glass continues to convey the message of high quality, purity and product protection-these are the three key elements for cosmetics and skin care manufacturers. And the decorated glass will further enhance the impression that “the product is high-end”.
The influence of the brand on the cosmetic counter is created and expressed through the shape and color of the product, because they are the main factors that consumers first see. Moreover, because the product features in glass packaging are unique shapes and bright colors, the packaging functions as a quiet advertiser.
Manufacturers of products are constantly trying to discover special shapes that allow their products to stand out from the competition. Coupled with the multiple functions of glass and eye-catching decoration technology, consumers will always reach out to touch or hold the cosmetics and skin care products in the glass package. Once the product is in their hands, the chances of buying this product immediately increase.
The efforts made by the manufacturers behind such decorative glass containers are usually taken for granted by the end consumers. A perfume bottle is beautiful, of course, but what makes it so attractive? There are various methods, and the decoration supplier Beauty Packaging believes that there are countless ways to do it.
AQL of New Jersey, USA has already launched screen printing, mobile printing and PS label glass packaging using the latest ultraviolet curable inks (UVinks). The company’s relevant marketing officer said that they usually provide a complete set of services to create unique-looking packaging. The UV curable ink for glass avoids the need for high temperature annealing and provides almost unlimited color range. The annealing furnace is a heat treatment system, basically an oven with a conveyor belt that moves through the center, and the center is used to solidify and dry the ink when decorating the glass. For ceramic inks, the temperature needs to be as high as about 1400 degrees, while for organic inks, it is about 350 degrees. Such glass annealing furnaces are often about six feet wide, at least sixty feet long, and consume a lot of energy (natural gas or electricity). The latest UV-curable inks only need to be cured by ultraviolet light; and this can be done in a printing machine or a small oven at the end of the production line. Since there is only a few seconds of exposure time, much less energy is required.
France Saint-Gobain Desjonqueres provides the latest technology in glass decoration. Among them is laser decoration that involves vitrifying enamel materials onto glass materials. After the bottle is sprayed with enamel, the laser fuse the material to the glass in a selected design. The excess enamel is washed away. The important advantage of this technology is that it can also decorate the parts of the bottle that could not be processed so far, such as raised and recessed parts and lines. It also makes it possible to draw complex shapes and provides a wide variety of colors and touches.
Lacquering involves spraying a layer of varnish. After this treatment, the glass bottle is sprayed on in whole or in part (using a cover). Then they are annealed in a drying oven. Varnishing provides a variety of final finishing options, including transparent, frosted, opaque, shiny, matt, multicolored, fluorescent, phosphorescent, metallized, interference (Interferential), pearlescent, metallic, etc.
Other new decoration options include new inks with helicone or luster effects, new surfaces with a skin-like touch, new spray paints with holographic or glitter, fusing glass to glass, And a new thermoluster color that appears blue.
The relevant person in charge of HeinzGlas in the United States introduced that the company can provide screen printing (organic and ceramic) for adding names and patterns on perfume bottles. Pad printing is suitable for uneven surfaces or surfaces with multiple radii. Acid treatment (Acidetching) produces the frosting effect of the glass bottle in an acid bath, while the organic spray paints one or more colors on the glass bottle.
